Role in NetRNA

Our group will study the machineries and mechanisms of nucleic acid movement in plants. The group will also be involved in characterising several VSRs' mode of action not only to understand how viruses inhibit or escape the host defence machinery but also as probe to identify new critical components of the antiviral silencing pathway. Finally, the group will study the contribution of the miRNA pathway to agrobacterium-mediated tumor formation and the roles of small RNAs in the plant response to UV-induced DNA damage. These will contribute to a general understanding of the impact of biotic and abiotic stresses on regulatory RNA molecular machineries.
